I think I said that last year and get lots of doubtful looks for it- I said that if Marquez would have to deal with a Casey Stoner- or an motivated Lorenzo- or Rossi back in form… he would never have been a world champion. But don’t get me wrong… I like his aggressive- up to arrogant riding style, but he has kinda the same easy to calculate weak spot which also Max Biaggi had… his ego runs him in trouble.

Simple said… if you show him your front wheel during braking travel- Marc would let go off the brake. It’s easy to figure him out for highly experienced guys like Rossi and Lorenzo who learned to control their temper. And it will become worse, when his temper runs him in total madness, which can be the beginning of the end in terms of injuries and motivation.

Of course it’s not the front wheel. In Mugello, Marc was on a permanent fighting line- where there was no sense for fighting lines. Instead of setting up the Ducati in front of him for a clean pass on the brakes- he went off the line in the left turn to eventually pass on the flick into the right. This made him going a tighter line into the right. The second mistake was that he  miss judged the speed for that particular line because he still tried to attack the Duc. Totally senseless loss of points.

Long way to go, and when competition bites back you gotta be smarter then that. A championship isn’t won in the first three laps of a single race. This is consistency, calculated risks, strategic thinking and learning- not overdoing. If he keeps this attitude up- he ends up where Pedrosa is today.

IMG_2987 We’re supporting motorcycle clubs and meetup group organizers.

Here is a list of a couple of meetup motorcycle groups, where we have 10% off discounts on our Cornering School Day’s for their members: Groups Rides, Slomo Riders, Calspeed Moto Riders, San Jose Motorcycle Riders, and NorCal FastFar Rider.

Only members are getting that discount from them, so why don’t you look at one of these groups- have rides with them- and meet new friends. Organize meetups yourselves or just have a good time with riding buddies.

First of all… when we’re talking about Bridgestone Motorcycle Tires, then we’re talking about Sportbike Upgrade, Inc. is the Bridgestone race tire distributor supporting AFM Racing in Northern California and OMRRA/WMRRA in Oregon and Washington. They offer the full line of Bridgestone Battlax Racing slicks, Battlax R10 DOT Race, Supermoto and rain tires to racers and track day riders throughout the West Coast and nationwide.

Superbike-Coach has Bridgestone tires installed on all school vehicles, from the project bike to our rentals, Supermotard and trucks, and we will do an article on Coach’s Motorcycle Bible soon which explains how and why to chose the correct tire and compound.

But what they do for our students is pretty cool:

I love these guys, and whats good for me or even MotoGP… that should be good for you. Think about it!

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERAI am so pleased to have BikeMaster on my side. These guys really rock. I’ve never seen a company that crazy and enthusiastic about bikes- maybe this is why this relationship has been successful since 3 years now.

BikeMaster is specialized with tools and garage equipment. A pro mechanic- or a hobby technician find with them what they need for the job… way cheaper though, because BikeMaster has by far the most reliable pricing.

All Superbike-Coach school and rental bike are having BikeMaster parts on them and are well maintained with BikeMaster tools and oils. Even our transport equipment depends on them. Racing stands, tie downs, ramps… everything. In other words… BikeMaster is a huge part of the Superbike-Coach development and success.

BikeMaster was even in our ‘MotoGP Project Bike’ involved, for which we needed proper tools to get things done. But that’s not all. BikeMasters portfolio has everything what you need if you like to get things done yourself: batteries, mirrors, lights, fluids, cleaner, special tools, garage equipment, and much more- like the most sexiest race stands from aluminum I’ve ever seen.

First off… I’m hoping you guys had a great Christmas with your families- Happy new year btw :-)

It’s been one year ago when I announced Superbike-Coach’s new website. Hey… it happened again:
I personally love the design. It is fresh- modern- and represents Superbike-Coach pretty good. Just hoping that you like it, because that’s why we’re doing this. So let me tell you a little bit what’s under the hood of this baby:

  • Superbike-Coach ideal line definition 100% smart phone ready (responsive)
  • More quality on images
  • Improved booking system
  • Login area for booking status
  • Better schedule overviews with info system
  • Less linked-links for easier usage
  • Program pages reorganized for easier usage
  • Improved social media connectivity
  • Oh… and better looks :-)

Besides this big update on the website itself, we also come up with some interesting new stuff at the same time:

  • Supermotard 1on1- which I know you would love. You don’t have a adequate Supermoto… easy- just rent one from Superbike-Coach, and have some fun with me on Supermoto tracks, where I am using HD video and GPS data to coach you. This is good for street- track- and racers.
  • 2015 schedule- packed with Cornering School Days, Track Drills, Laguna Seca Specials, Seminars and Tours.
  • New blog sections- ‘Glossary of our Sport’, and ‘Coach’s Motorcycle Bible’- where I come up with tips & tricks around your ride… hopefully with every newsletter.

I really hope you guys enjoy the new website, which motivates to explore. I love this piece and what it stands for. Hope to see you in a class one day.

I am so happy with the way i developed our ‘Cornering School Day 1 & 2’, because they are burning hot! We still have ideas popping up even improving stuff, and now since we are doing 2 days of cornering school, and our students already asking for it- we are thinking about adding a 3rd day. I’ll come up with very cool stuff, but i need to settle my thoughts on this first.

This is the 1st review of a student who participated in CSD-2 in October 26th 2014:

Coach Can tries hard to get us riders to honestly think about and evaluate our riding habits so we can more efficiently incorporate his guidance with the goal of improving our skills- Ross Shafer, Cornering School - Day 2

IMG_4206What a great class this was! No matter what you come up with… Sportbike, race bike, dual sport, touring bike… or even a Gold Wing or Harley Davidson… we have a place for everyone who want to learn cornering from A-Z from FIRST HAND. No games, but straight out and honest coaching in a fantastic place where learning meets fun!

Pictures and videos of the event are on the way… FREE of charge!

ONLY at Superbike-Coach’s Cornering School Day 1 & 2

I thank to God to be able- and love what i do.

Recap Last Knee & Wheelie Classes

Headcoach Can Akkaya:  Let’s recap our last Wheelie and Knee Down classes in Oct 11 & 12:

Luckily it was not that hot in Stockton as it use to be… but what was going on on our track… that was hot. Seeing my students all weekend to aim for a real goal and having me and my team working real hard to make most of them reaching these goals- that makes my classes always to an eye opening experience. I start this story out with a testimonial from Dean Lonskey:

Superbike-Coach Wheelie Course, Oct 2014 (178)           “I’ve been riding motorcycles for over 40 years (desert, motocross, street), 26 years recently on street, and I’ve always been a little nervous about doing wheelies but would still try. Taking the wheelie course helped with that and Superbike-Coach is a really good school to take. The instructors are very honest, upfront, and experienced (just one look at them in action was enough to convince me!). The 1on1 part of the class, with ear buds in your helmet listening to Headcoach Can giving instructions, is a MUST for EVERYONE! Coach Can Akkaya never pulls any punches and tells you “like it is…good and bad”. You can do something WRONG and he’ll let you know right then and there. However, just as quick as he gets on you for a mistake, he’s right there cheering you on and congratulating you when you do something correct. Anyone who takes this class will come away with something new learned or something remembered that was forgotten“.
